"A STRANGE FOOTPRINT" (Chrondisp 2)

Captain Digby, ex-Infantry officer, is invited again to the Chrondisp Time-Travel Institute where he is immediately involved with a band of Arab terrorists who take hostage two members of the Institute. Digby, aided by his computer-expert friend Jim, outwits the terrorists and frees the hostages.

He is then sent on a Mission into Victorian England in 1852 by the scheming Dr Duluth, ostensibly to find an Extra-terrestrial who is supposed to have been observing us since the time of the Pharaohs. In order to detect the E-T, Digby is Inserted into Lord Salisbury, the proprietor of a small detective bureau which is trying to solve two odd cases: a rich man who is no longer interested in his beautiful wife, and the theft of a radio that has been invented 40 years before its time.

Digby helps Lord Salisbury to solve the two cases, which turn out to be strangely connected. He also completes his Mission and triumphantly returns to the present, only to find that he has also succeeded in the real reason why Dr Duluth sent him into Victorian England.

"A STRANGE FOOTPRINT" is a witty and well-researched novel combining electronic espionage and historical adventure in the time of Sherlock Holmes. It is a follow-up to "Time Gun".
